Hello, I am Randi Foust and I teach Kindergarten at the Grove Early Childhood Center.  This is my first year of teaching and I am so excited.

I love being at Grove Public Schools and I love teaching Kindergarten.  The women at our school are so helpful and have made me feel so welcomed in their family.  Mrs. Bloss is a wonderful woman to work for and with.  She is very inspiring and encouraging and I am so glad to be part of the ECC team.

I couldn't imagine teaching anywhere else besides Grove, Grove has been my home since I was in the Fourth Grade.  Being a Ridgerunner is in my blood!! I graduated High School from Grove in 2000.  I was involved in FCCLA, FBLA, FCA, Key Club, and was a cheerleader for 3 years.  After High School I attended NEO in Miami and graduated with my Associates Degree in Elementary Education and then attended NSU in Broken Arrow where I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Kindergarten is so exciting and rewarding.  I love what I do and look forward to seeing and teaching my students everyday.  I feel very blessed to be at Grove Public Schools and thank them for allowing me the opportunity to
do what I love.

I enjoy spending  time with my family and friends.  I enjoy watching sports and I love shopping.

Classroom Management:

  • Our system of classroom behavior management is simple.  On a classroom chart, each student has a pocket with five color cards in it.  This chart will make students aware of their behavior.  The colors and what they represent:
           *Green: Super Character
*Yellow: Verbal Warning of Improper Behavior
*Orange: 10 Minute time-out at recess.
*Purple: No recess/ contact parents by phone or behavioral note
*Pink: Visit in the office and call parent to help remedy situation.

In our class we practice good character and practice the Golden Rule "Do unto other as you want them to do to you".

It is important that students achieve.  Therefore they shall strive to do the following:
      ** Attend school regularly
**Work hard to do their best in class and school work.
** Conform to rules of student conduct
      **Ask for help when needed
      **Complete and return homework assignments

Kindergarten Curriculum:

  • The kindergarten program uses the Scott Foresman Reading Program, Saxon Phonics, and Saxon math, and modern mauscript.  Your child will also have a reading bag that will contain a book and recording form.  To start off, you will need to read and share the book with your child and record information on the form.  Later in the year, your child will start reading and sharing the books with you.

Family Participation:

  • We must partner up in your child's education.  Please make sure to maketime to review daily assignments, reading logs and occasional homework. I have an open door policy so please feel free to visit or call me at any time.

We look forward to a wonderful school year filled with learning and memorable moments.
