  • FINANCIAL AID
    • To make applying for Pell Grants, Work Study and Loans easier in January GO NOW to: www.pin.ed.gov This will give you a pin number in order to sign your FAFSA when it is submitted electronically. FAFSA will NOT be sending out paper applications this year, so you will need to have a pin for YOU and a pin for one of your PARENTS. Financial aid is EASY and not SCARY, like some people think!!!   • RAP - Ridgerunner Advisement Program Information
  • If you did not Pre-enroll for necxt year with you RAP advisor. please see Ms. DuBoir or Mrs. Yirsa ASAP to do so.
  • Oklahoma State Law is now requiring college students who are living in dorms to have the Meningococcal Meningitis vaccine. If you do not get this vaccine before age 18 it will cost around $93, if you are under 18 you may get if for free at the Health Dept. Get it before age 18 to save $$$.

Special Notes

End of Instruction Testing: Will begin this week for American History and English 11. American History: .On Thursday, April 10, Coach Davies American History classes will test in rooms B102 & B103 1st and 2nd hours. Mr. Sadlers 1st hour will test in the writing lab 1st & 2nd hour. Mr. Sadler's 2nd hour will test in the writing lab 3rd & 4th hours. English 11: Mrs. Martin's 5th hour will go to 1st lunch and test @ 12:30 in the writing lab. Friday, April 11th: Mr. Sadler's 4th, 5th, & 6th hour classes will test during 1st & 2nd hours in B102, and B103 and the writing lab. Mrs. Martin's 3rd hour will test during 3rd, 4th, and 5th hours in the writing lab and go to second lunch. Mr. Sadlers 7th hour class will test during 6th and 7th hours in the writing lab.

There will be a quick Senior Class Officer Meeting Wednesday during 1st lunch in the counseling office. This is very important!

National Native American Youth Initiative for Indian Students interested in health careers. Must be at least 16. Spend 9 days in Washington DC this summer, June 21-29. For more information see Mrs. Thompson.

The Major Ridge Scholarship is available through the Cherokee Nation. For an application or more information see Mrs. Thompson

Applications are being accepted for RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) a youth retreat sponsored by Rotary to help students improve and refine their leadership skills. For more details, contact: Britton Bechtol, Elliott Denney, Blake Hansen, Jeremy Hicks and Troy Howerton. Applications are available online at www.groverotary.org or thru the counseling office.

Robert C. Byrd Scholarship Application is available in the counseling office. Must have an ACT of 32 or an SAT of 2130

ACT Fee Waiver

If you receive Free/Reduced Lunch, you may have 1 fee waiver to take the ACT during your Junior year and 1 fee waiver during your Senior year. Fee Waiver’s are available in the counseling office.

 

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Wal-Mart scholarship is available online at www.walmartfoundation.org.

Dr. Michael LaFerla Orthodontic Team Scholarship is available to any current or past patients of Dr. LaFerla. Stop by the counseling office for an application.

The Oklahoma City Gridiron Foundation, Must be a Senior in HS who will be majoring in journalism!!

AXA Achievement Community Scholarship. Must demonstrate Ambition, drive, determination, respect for self, family and community and an ability to succeed in college. Applications can be completed online at www.axa-achievement.com.

OU Club of Tulsa Northeastern Oklahoma Freshman Scholarship. Must live in Northeastern Oklahoma and have met OU entrance requirments and been accepted.

Great Plains Scholarship. The Great Plains Assosiation of College Admission Counseling is offering six $1000 scholarships for students graduating in May. Application is online at www.gpacac.net

The NSU Dept.of Math and Computer Science has $3000,000 in scholarship funds and NEEDS APPLICANTS!!! Must be attending NSU in Fall of 2008 and have aGPA of 2.75 or above. Applications are on the website: www.nsuok.edu/STEMscholars. Due date is April 18 in counseling office!!!!

Group 33 Inc Scholarship application is availible in the counseling office.

The Dream Institute is offering a scholarship to students with physical and/or learning disabilities. Applications are availible online at www.dreaminstitute.org.

LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP PACKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE IN THE COUNSELING OFFICE.

  • ACT | SAT
    • ACT registration packets are currently available in the Counseling Office. We are out of SAT packets, but have ordered more.
    • The next SAT test will be December 1. Registration deadline is October 30.
    • The next ACT test will be December 8. Registration deadline is November 2.
    • FEE WAIVERS are available. If you receive Free or Reduced lunches, you can have one fee waiver during your Junior year and one fee waiver during your Senior year for the ACT. Ask Ms. DuBois if you have any questions or need a fee waiver
