FACULTY:Faculty, please remember that you can turn in the following items any time this week preferably – so they can be put in order next week. Gail will be out on vacation leave the week after graduation due to the arrival of her new granddaughter:

INVENTORIES – 2 COPIES PLEASE, SEMESTER TESTS AND TEST KEYS. ALL OTHER CHECK OUT ITEMS WILL EASILY BE COMPLETED ON MAY 23RD.

Reminder – Activity Accounts will be closed on May 15 for 07/08 school yr

ACTIVITY SPONSORS: Make sure you have turned in your Purchase Orders For all activities through June 30. This includes any camps, trainings, etc. If Something occurs after July 1, you may turn that PO in after July 1.

LIBRARY CLOSED: The Library will be closed Monday, May 12. Tuesday & Wednesday, May 13 & 14, students need to return all library books. Thank you.

STUDENTS:

“Don’t be left behind” because of our absences. Students need to check the postings in the bulletin board area and the commons area to see how their attendance is. Postings will be updated weekly. There are only 2 Saturdays remaining to clear up absences.

END OF YEAR REPORT CARDS: If you would like your final report card mailed to you, please bring a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Jenny in the counselors office and it will be mailed to you. If you have debts, a notice of your debts will be mailed and will need cleared before grades will be released.

PROFICIENCY EXAMS: Proficiency Exams will be offered May 21 and May 22 to any student who wishes to Demonstrate proficiency in an academic subject. You must pick up the Proficiency Exam forms in the Counseling office and return them by Friday, May 16 in order to take a test. Your parent or guardian MUST sign the form. Your testing time will be scheduled when you return the form. ***PLEASE NOTE many students think this is a CLEP exam. We do not offer CLEP exams as that is a national exam taken at the college level (College Level Examination Program).

 SUMMER SCHOOL: If you’re needing to make up credits - Sign up for Summer School in the Counselor’s Office.

READING TEST FOR DRIVERS LICENSE: Mrs. Massey will give the last test THIS Thur., May 15 . If you need to test before school is out for Summer, see Mrs. Massey in Room E106!

YEARBOOK RELEASE PARTY: The Yearbook Release & Autograph Party will be Friday, May 16, 6:00/10:00 p.m. in the HS Gym for grades 6 thru 12. FREE Music and food while it lasts. Get your yearbook for $50.00 and get it signed by all your friends! Students with remaining Balance due on their yearbook is posted on the student center window.

TOP SCHOLARS: If you gave Ms. Steen a picture for the GEFFE PowerPoint, please drop back by and Pick up your picture. You may also request a copy of the PowerPoint, but you need to see Mrs. Steen to make the request.

 

SENIOR SLIDE SHOW: Any additional Photos or Videos for the Senior Slide show please turn in to Room B102 by Friday, April 18th.

 

SENIORS: For any Seniors who are undecided about colleges, St. Gregory’s in Shawnee has several scholarships still available and would LOVE to give you more information about their programs. Call 1-888-STGREGS (784-7347).

PLEASE BE ADVISED…YOU NEED TO START CLEARING OUT ALL YOUR ACCOUNTS, MAKING SURE ALL YOUR LIBRARY BOOKS AND FINES ARE IN THE CLEAR, ANY ORGANIZATION DUE OR FUNDRAISERS CLEAR, LUNCH ACCOUNTS PAID IN FULL, ATHLETIC GEAR TURNED IN AND OR PAID IN FULL. YOUR DEBT FILES GO ALL THE WAY BACK TO YOUR FRESHMEN YEAR – SO BE PREPARED TO HAVE THEM CLEARED OF ALL CHARGES BEFORE YOUR DIPLOMA WILL BE RELEASED.

Check out all your scholarship options and pick up packets in the Counseling office.

SR. CAP AND GOWNS: Will be handed out on the following days during 4th hour. Schedule is based onthe students last name. Sr.s are to report to Mrs. Martin’s room A102. CHARACTER COUNTS ACTIVITIES: Character Counts Elections will be Friday, May 16. Any students who have volunteer hours for this year need to turn them in to Ms. DuBois by THIS Thur., May 15 in order to get them posted on your transcript.

 

NATIONAL NATIVE AMERICAN YOUTH INITIATION: For Indian Students interested in Health Careers must be at least 16. Spend 9 days in Washington D.C. this summer June 21-29. For more information see Mrs. Thompson

CONGRATULATIONS: To the GHS Concert & Jazz Bands for winning 1st PLACE & OVERALL CHAMPION @ the Band Contest in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

GHS BAND/JAZZ BAND CONCERTS: Annual Spring Concert will be Tue., May 13, 7:30 p.m., Cornerstone Church in Grove. Admission is free. Everyone is welcome.

PROJECT GRADUATION: Sr. load the buses exactly 1 hour after graduation for the trip to theJones Center in Springdale Ark and will return Sat., May 24, approx. 5:30/6:00 a.m.Questions or parent volunteers can call Lisa @ 786-5694.
