Before moving to Vinita, I lived northeast of Grove for approximately 25 years. I have one son, Dee Ross Hilliard, and one granddaughter, Emma Layne Hilliard who live northeast of Grove. I also have two stepsons, Billy Heard and Brandon Heard of Vinita.
I am certified teacher in Special Education Learning Disabilities. I began my teaching career at Grove Public Schools in the year of 1998, and have continued. As a special education teacher, I have taught many grade levels; they include 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, and at present time 2nd grade.
Through the years I feel I have gained experience and growth within the profession and myself. This I think has challenged me to obtain a better understanding of serving students for their individualized needs. I hold the values of teaching very dear to my heart including every student I have had the pleasure of teaching. I love giving all my energy and ability to teaching.
It has been said, “If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.” This pretty well sums it up for me. I must say, “I have been blessed to be called a teacher.”
