I am Katherine Wilkerson. I am the Clerk in the Library and the Paraprofessional for the English as a Second Language (ESL) program. I was born an “Okie”, but grew up in Aurora, Colorado where I spent my school years and then went to college in Durango, Colorado at Ft. Lewis College. I began my college years in the field of education, but was given the unique opportunity to work for President Ronald Reagan, and became a Presidential appointee in Washington D.C for 8 years. In 1988, my parents, Doyle and Pat Seawright and my brother, Darren bought Hill’s Resort in Grove, and I soon followed. When I came to Oklahoma I taught a Riverfield Country Day School in Tulsa and then moved to Grove and opened a gift shop. I commuted to Tulsa part-time and worked for Special Olympics where I met my husband Wade and we began our family. Together we have four children, Michael, 26 and Lacey, 19, both who live in Tulsa, Savannah, 11 and Isabelle, 5. We spend a lot of time with our family, my nieces Devan and Brooke, and friends and we are members of the Grove Church of Christ.
I believe reading is the cornerstone to a successful education. I am an avid reader and enjoy sharing my love of reading with your children.
