My name is Sandy Harper and this is my 30th year in education. I have spent 15 years in the classroom teaching and this is my 15th year in administration.

I was born in Hale Center, Texas and then moved to Jay Oklahoma when I was in the 6 th grade. I graduated from Jay High School in 1974. I attended Northeaster State University where I received my Bachelors and Masters. I attended OSU to get my Superintendents Certificate.

I spent my first teaching years at Collinsville, Ok. I taught 5 th grade and loved every minute of it. Then I moved to Sperry where I had 5 th and 6 th grade. Then I returned home to Jay where I spent the next 25 years. Teaching 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd grade, along with Assistant Principal and Principal.

I am very excited to say that my 30 th year will be here at Grove Lower Elementary being a Ridgy. I admit it took a little getting use to after wearing Black and Gold for so many years. I have enjoyed my year tremendously at the GLE. I have been very impressed with the parents, teachers, and students. I feel we have an exceptional “team” and enjoy them all very much.

I am married to Rob Harper who is an Agricultural Teacher at Oologah. I have 2 wonderful sons, Jacob and Jason. My 2 daughter-in-laws Natasha, and Darla are outstanding young women. Then I have 3 grandchildren Jaxon, Tatum, and Trey whom I love dearly, they put the sparkle in my eyes.

I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, shopping, and fishing. I am making new friends at Grove and I am very pleased with that
