Position: Head High School Softball Coach, MS Heath and Wellness

Years Experience: 1st Year

I truly feel that God has called me to Grove, Oklahoma. I  am from Lone Grove, Oklahoma which is about 4 hours from here, and I came from Lee University in Cleveland, TN knowing no one here in Grove. I feel so blessed to be a part of such a strong tradition. The softball program here in Grove is one of the most known softball programs in the State of Oklahoma. I have met so many amazing people here in Grove, and enjoy coming to work every day. My co-workers are great. I look forward to getting to know more people in Grove and making this my home.

I graduated from Lone Grove High School in Lone Grove, Oklahoma in 2002. I then played four years of college softball, graduating from Lee University a private Christian University in Cleveland, TN. I graduated December of 2006. I have a degree in Physical Education and a minor in Theology. I am certified to teach Health and Wellness, and Physical Education K-12.

I am a first year teacher. My first year to be a Head Coach. I was the grad-assistant coach at the university I played for, and also have coached travel teams.

My Mom and Dad have been married for 29 years, and continue to show me how a marriage should work. We are a very tight knit family. They have provided me with everything, but the most important thing they provided me with is Love, and their full attention!! My Dad is a production foreman for an Oil Company, and My Mom is an accountant. I also have an 8 year old little sister who is truly the light of my life. She means the world me. She plays softball, basketball, is a member of Lone Grove Elem. Jump and Jive and also enjoys to do tumbling.

Softball is my passion, it’s what I love to do. So it is only natural that Coaching would be a good fit for me, however my other passion is people. I love helping people get better at something. I love kids and enjoy being around them. Teaching is a lot of fun, and I think I learn just as much from the kids as they learn from me. I love being in the classroom and helping them learn more about their health, physically, mentally, and socially.

I Coach High School Softball, and am the assistant for the 7th grade basketball team. I teach two hours of health and wellness, and competitive athletics, and physical education. They are all a lot of fun, and I look forward to each day I get to spend here at Grove.

Kids will learn in my Health Classes: about their physical, mental, and social health. They will also learn about diseases, food guide pyramid, eating disorders, alcohol, drugs, all things that are affecting our kids today.

I am a very hands on teacher. I go back and forth between lecture and group activities. They will also watch videos occasionally. I am fully aware that kids do not learn the same, and try to do something for everyone so they get the most out of my class.
