Hello! I am excited to have the opportunity to tell you a little about myself and my teaching philosophy. Last year I completed the requirements for a teacher’s license after completing the Oklahoma Alternative Certification program. I graduated from the University of California in 1992 with a B.S. degree in Environmental Science. I have worked mainly in the water and wastewater fields in various positions. I am a class “A” licensed Water Laboratory Analyst and have been employed as an operator, lab analyst and industrial waste inspector in both water and wastewater treatment facilities.
This year I have the privilege of teaching 7th and 8th grade science. My classroom objectives mirror those of the Oklahoma PASS skills and I strive to make learning fun through the use of hands-on experiments and labs. I love working with students! I cherish their candor and enthusiasm. I have been married for 11 years and have two sons at the Lower Elementary. I know that for a student to be successful, parental involvement is very beneficial. My teaching philosophy revolves around the idea “ I think I can!” because high expectations are so important when teaching our youth. Science Fair will be coming up shortly and is always an exciting time for students and teachers alike! Please feel free to contact me with your feedback, comments, etc. any time!
