Staff Spotlight: Kimmie Cash Brings Heart, Kindness and Teamwork to Grove ECC
Grove Early Childhood Center’s August Staff Member of the Month
For nine years, Kimmie Cash has been a familiar and welcoming face at Grove Early Childhood Center, serving as the principal’s secretary. During that time, she has developed a genuine love for the students, families and staff who make up the Grove Public Schools community. “I love every minute of it,” Kimmie said. “I love the people and students I work with.”
Before joining Grove Public Schools, Kimmie spent five to six years as a stay-at-home mom. After years of babysitting children and spending time caring for kids, she decided that working with children every day would be the perfect fit. She quickly discovered that she was right. “I absolutely love this age group.”
Kimmie says helping children is one of the most rewarding parts of her job. Sometimes, that connection shows up in the smallest and sweetest ways.
She tells the story of one student who will occasionally sneak out of class just to stop by her office and say hello. Another student regularly asks Kimmie to walk them to class. Those simple moments mean a great deal to her. “I love helping with the kids,” Kimmie shared, explaining that being there for students gives her great satisfaction.
When asked why she is proud to be part of Grove, Kimmie points to something that goes beyond the school walls, the community. “Because of the community in Grove, especially at the school. Everyone is so helpful!”
That spirit of helping one another is something Kimmie has experienced throughout her years at Grove, and it is also something she tries to give back to others each day.
Her coworkers describe Kimmie as the nicest person in the office and say they love working with her. Her kindness, willingness to help and genuine care for students have made her an important part of the ECC family.
Kimmie also has advice for anyone joining the Grove family: Don't be afraid to ask for help. “Don't be afraid to ask for help. I have had to learn to ask for help and I realized it is nice to have assistance and teamwork.”
For Kimmie, teamwork is an important part of creating a positive school environment. Knowing that people are willing to step in, help one another and work together makes a difference for both staff and students.
When she isn't at school, Kimmie enjoys reading, taking care of her dogs, spending time with family and keeping busy running her kids to their activities.
And there are a few other things students and parents might be surprised to learn about her. Kimmie loves going to concerts, is a big dog lover with lots of dogs, and has a special love for anything s’mores!
For nine years, Kimmie Cash has helped make the Grove Early Childhood Center a welcoming place for students, families and staff. Whether she's greeting someone at the office, helping a student get where they need to go or simply taking a few minutes to say hello to a child who stopped by, she finds joy in being there for others. Her kindness and love for children are a wonderful reflection of the caring community that makes Grove special.
Congratulations to Kimmie Cash, Grove Early Childhood Center’s Staff Member of the Month! Thank you for the heart, kindness and teamwork you bring to our youngest Ridgerunners each day.
