Staff Spotlight GUE

SEPTEMBER STAFF SPOTLIGHT: ISAAC ANARIBA-REYES

GUE CUSTODIAN

Some people don't just do their jobs, they go the extra mile to make their school a better place! This September, Grove Public Schools is proud to recognize Isaac Anariba-Reyes, a dedicated daytime custodian at Grove Upper Elementary!

Principal Charla Matthews recognizes Isaac for his incredible work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to help wherever he's needed. From keeping the building sparkling clean to scrubbing away a stubborn floor mark by hand, Isaac takes pride in his work! He's always ready to lend teachers a hand and brings a positive attitude to his interactions with students. His coworkers would describe him in one word: reliable!

A proud Ridgerunner, Isaac graduated from Grove High School in 2017 and has been part of the GUE team for 10 months. One of his favorite things about working at GPS is getting to know so many people. He shared, "The teachers here do great work, they are a very helpful bunch that works together and enjoy what they are doing."

Think you know your school custodian? Here's something you might not expect: Isaac calls himself a “big nerd!” He enjoys comic books, music, and writing futuristic short stories. He was also a proud member of the Grove Public Schools band!

What makes Isaac proud to be part of GUE is the sense of community. He appreciates how staff members check in on one another, show courtesy, and treat each other with respect. For Isaac, it's all about working together and looking out for one another!

Isaac credits his grandfather, a hardworking cabinet builder who is still working today, for inspiring his own strong work ethic. That example helped shape the values he carries into his work and daily life. His advice to students? Listen to others, be where you're supposed to be, and always do the right thing, even when no one is looking! And, of course, there's always a funny story to share! Isaac and his twin brother are both part of the GPS team and help paint district buildings during the summer while supervising student workers. One day, they spotted a student worker who had actually fallen asleep standing up, with a paintbrush still in hand! It's a memory that still makes them laugh!

Isaac, thank you for the hard work, heart, and pride you bring to Grove Upper Elementary. Your dedication helps make GUE a cleaner, kinder, and better place for students and staff every day! Help us congratulate Isaac on being our September Staff Spotlight!
