On behalf of Grove Public Schools, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and the Cherokee Nation for their ongoing support and commitment to public education. We are deeply appreciative of the generous funding that was made possible through the sale of tribal car tags.
The check for $137,535.80 that Grove Public Schools recently received will make a significant difference in the lives of our students and staff. This funding is invaluable in enhancing the educational opportunities we can provide and supporting our continued efforts to build a bright future for our community.
In total, the Cherokee Nation awarded $7.6 million to the 107 school districts within the Cherokee Nation. It is clear that the Cherokee Nation is dedicated to investing in the future of all students. The combined total of $538,000 awarded to Delaware County schools is an excellent example of how these funds are being distributed equitably and purposefully to support educational excellence. Funding totals are based on the 34,174 Cherokee nation students in the 107 school districts
Thank you again for your unwavering dedication to the success of our students and our schools. Your leadership and generosity are a true reflection of the Cherokee Nation’s commitment to empowering the next generation. We are proud to partner with you in this important work.
With sincere appreciation,
Pat Dodson
Superintendent

Twenty middle school students and two high school students traveled to OSU on March 6 and 7 to participate in the Oklahoma State Science and Engineering Fair. To attend the state fair, they had to qualify at the Regional Science Fair held at NEO in January. Seven of our students placed and an additional six students received special awards. As always, we are beyond proud of all of our students' accomplishments.
Thank you to our science teachers and Science Fair Coordinators, Mrs. Deason and Mr. Fleming for guiding our students throughout this process and for taking them to Stillwater; along with Mrs. Woods, Nurse Shannon Johnson, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Sheryl Fleming, and Mrs. Vanessa Byers for traveling with the students.
Additionally, we appreciate GEFEE, Rotary, and community members for your continued support of our science department at GMS.
