Mrs. Guinn's and Ms. Immell's GMS art students recently competed in the Grand Lake Youth Arts Show. The students produced some fantastic artwork and were recognized for their creativity! #ridgerunnernation
Seniors and Parents: Graduation is quickly approaching! Here is a list of dates and times, updated as of Monday, May 5th.
GMS will be taking the remainder of our 8th-grade students to NEO A&M College on Wednesday as part of our Gear Up Grant. Our first group of students attended last week on Thursday and thoroughly enjoyed their visit. Students will leave at 9:00 and return at approximately 1:30, and they will be provided lunch in the NEO cafeteria. Any students who have appointments during the time we are away, will need to stay on GMS campus to be checked out. We are excited to offer this opportunity to our students. #OklahomaGearUp #ridgerunnernation

Grove Alternative Academy brought in Spring by completing a program during which students made custom fishing rods, tied crappie jigs, and used their handcrafted gear to catch crappie. The program had its start last year when the Academy received grants from Grove Education Foundation For Excellence to purchase fishing rod-building equipment and Grove Rotary for jig-tying supplies.
The idea began when a resident shared a video of the Mud Hole Rod Building for Education Program. Academy staff agreed that the program would be a relevant Life Skill/Art program when combined with students learning the craft of jig-tying. A local tackle shop jumped on board sharing valuable knowledge and donating extra supplies. Upon learning of the project, Grove’s local marina offered to host small groups of students to fish from the safety of their docks.

Congrats to Joseph Wang for getting accepted at the National Youth Science Academy in West Virginia this Summer. This is an all-expense-paid trip, including airfare, and the group will take a side trip to Washington DC.
Physics students are learning about optics and explored how light behaves with lenses using pinhole cameras.
We will be in school May 2, 2025.
