Physical Science and AP Env Science visit Pensacola Dam hydroelectric plant
A group of Grove High School students visited the GRDA Ecosystems and Education Center and the Pensacola Dam hydroelectric plant in Langley. GRDA provided a fantastic tour of the facility including the 6 hydroelectric turbine generators that convert the movement of this renewable resource into electricity. The kids learned about the history of the dam construction as well the ecosystem studies such as their work with bacteria, algae, fish, and bats. Students toured the lab and learned about summer camps and summer internship opportunities for college students. If you’d like to learn more about their programs such as Guard the Grand or Rush for Brush, visit grda.com/ecosystems-watershed-management.

This could be a great opportunity for students interested in NEO!!!

Monday, January 13th, 2025 all GPS buses will be running SNOW ROUTES. Please visit the link below for a list of stops and times for each bus. Snow routes will be used in both the morning and afternoon routes. Please ensure your children are at the locations posted closest to your stop by the AM time and that someone is there to pick them up by the PM time listed.

New dismissal times also begin tomorrow for the west campuses. MS and UE students will be released at 3:10 and LE and ECC students will be released at 3:25. Please be patient as the traffic flows adjust to the new schedule. This flip is done annually to equalize instructional times between the buildings.
